As everyone keeps saying on the retail front, it’s festival season! I was lucky enough to go to week one of the Coachella Music Festival this past weekend. In short, it was amazing! I went with some really good, old friends and some new ones and it was such a great bunch. I think I have a new appreciation for the California desert after this weekend. I never really thought about the majesty of the expansive desert lands in all the other times I’ve gone. Photographing it definitely brings a new perspective to it’s beauty. The weather was in the 90’s but never reached 100 (thank God!) and cooled down significantly at night. That means minimal clothing is needed! Let me tell you there was definitely minimal clothing going on at Coachella! It’s kind of like Halloween where you can get away with wearing a lot of crazy things without even batting an eye. Of course there was heavy fringe, denim cut-offs, and florals as expected. All undergarments (or sometimes a stand-alone top/bottom) are basically some type of swimwear.
I guess you could say Coachella is like a Disneyland for concert-goers. The ambience, decor, and art at the festival is other-worldly. I loved it and felt like it really put me in another mindset. It was like an alternate universe filled with music! 🙂
The sunsets were amazing and I especially loved the performances that went through sunset. It’s such a pretty backdrop to the stage. This was at the Passion Pit performance and they were SO GOOD! I have to say all the live music I saw all 3 days was very impressive.
This is my hair au natural! So wavy! I slept on it wet so it’s even wavier. By the end of the day it was like I had sprayed a whole bottle of hair product in my hair from all the dust, sunscreen reapplications, etc that got caught in it. It was pretty much a bird’s nest by the time I got back to the hotel.
See what I mean about “other worldly”? I feel like the picture above kind of captures that.
